This trip lasts five (5) hours, and travels to the Village of Big Valley. Included are a full course cafeteria style roast of Alberta Beef meal, live entertainment on the train, time to visit Jimmy Jock Boardwalk, restored station, rail car museum, and roundhouse and elevator interpretive centres, and the cars and household artifacts at McAlister Motors community museum. Be sure to spend some time at the world-class Big Valley Tool Museum building south-west of the station. Mine payroll on board increases danger of being hit by the Reynolds Raiders horse-mounted outlaw gang.

  1. Called however no answer or voice mail. This date, July 14th, is showing it is tentative, would like to know if you have confirmation this and future excursions will be going to Big Valley?

    1. Good morning Susan. Did you phone 1-800-282-3994 or 1-403-742-2811? It is strange that you didn’t get voice mail at the very least. Now to answer your question the trips in July are still tentative because of concerns about track conditions as no one has been on most of the rail between Stettler and Big Valley for two and one-half years. It needs to be fully inspected and any deterioration repaired before it will deemed ready for service. It is expected that this work will be completed sometime between the middle and end of May.
