Teddy Bear Specials are really a variation on our popular "Country Dinner" theme trips and are good for all ages. These diesel-powered trips last five and one-half hours and include a full course Alberta roast beef buffet, and entertainment. The only real differences between these trips and a "Country Dinner" are the very large number of children on board and entertainment is directed at the children, usually clowns and children's sing-along. Adults are generally entertained by watching the children being entertained. There is one-half hour at the end of the Big Valley stop to allow for a teddy bear promenade involving the children and their bears. Everyone gets a prize.
The destination for Alberta Prairie excursions is Big Valley. This community was the divisional point for the Canadian Northern Railway in the early 1900s. Feature attractions include restored railway station, roundhouse interpretive centre, St. Edmund Church and Jimmy Jock Boardwalk.
